Senior Analyst, Advanced Analytics - Walmart Connect
About the role
We’re seeking an intellectually curious, analytical, and detail-oriented self-starter to join our team as a Senior Analyst. This individual contributor role is central to the continued growth, efficiency, and success of the Walmart Connect team. You’ll work alongside Analytics, Sales, and Campaign Management teams to unlock insights, build analytic solutions and models, and tell the story that helps move media decisions forward. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analytics with a deep understanding of the retail/media industry.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Walmart Connect cross-functional teams for the development, execution, and delivery of short- and long-term analytic projects that influence media investment strategies and business growth opportunities.
- Ensure delivery of assigned insights analyses with end-to-end ownership, clear communication, detailed project plans, and operational processes that drive visibility, accountability, and clear communication of business impact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop, enhance, and produce various predictive models to generate behavioral shopper insights, target audiences, and optimized customer journeys.
- Drive strategic initiatives including identifying issues, creating hypotheses, executing analysis, and translating data into meaningful insights and actions.
- Develop and present concrete hypothesis-driven impactful deliverables clearly answering the “so-what” for Walmart Connect advertisers.
- Support development of executive-level presentations and perspectives.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for improving existing data sources and engage with broader Walmart teams to acquire and summarize these sources within the Walmart Connect environment.
- Support the Sales/Marketing teams in managing day-to-day operating activities and special projects.
- Facilitate the evangelization of the team’s plans, special projects, and processes across the Sales & Marketing organization.
- Continuously refine processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in delivering insights and reports.
Requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and drive results.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with large datasets and data sources with strong programming skills leveraging SQL, Python/R, and Excel.
- Hands-on experience in SQL.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and integrity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field OR 2 years' experience in data analytics or related field.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field or 4+ years of experience in a related field.
- Practical experience in mining, analyzing, and interpreting data through various statistical techniques and predictive models (e.g., Regression, Time Series, Natural Language Processing, Pattern Recognition, Classification, Segmentation, Deep Learning).
- Thrives under pressure, balancing multiple workstreams and priorities.
- Familiarity with Ad Servers, DSPs, DMPs, onsite & offsite targeting.
- Analytics in retail operations, retail math (e.g., calculate margin, inventory turn, average price).

Pay
Annual salary ranges:
- Hoboken, New Jersey: $84,000.00 - $156,000.00
- San Bruno, California: $91,000.00 - $169,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.
