Senior, AI & Data Consulting
About the role
Artefact is a next-generation data and AI consulting firm dedicated to accelerating the adoption of data and AI to create measurable business impact across the full enterprise value chain. We sit at the intersection of consulting, data science, AI technologies, data engineering, and digital transformation. We do not just advise — we build, implement, and deliver results our clients can measure.
As we continue to grow in the US, we are building a team of entrepreneurial data and AI talent who can help clients move beyond experimentation and into scalable, governed, value-generating AI adoption. The Senior AI & Data Consultant is an analytical, client-facing consultant who is also a hands-on builder with AI. You will perform advanced analytics, interface directly with clients, and keep project efforts aligned and on track — all AI-natively.
Responsibilities
- Define client needs through interviews with client teams and technology partners.
- Perform advanced data analysis and research on high-impact, strategic client problems.
- Help build, formulate, and present strategic data and AI recommendations.
- Keep internal project efforts aligned and on track, and interface with clients with confidence and care.
- Use AI tools daily across your work: analysis, synthesis, writing, and quality checking — with the judgment to verify outputs.
- Prototype ideas with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex): a working demo, an automated analysis, a small internal tool.
- Apply core GenAI concepts — prompting, RAG, agents, context engineering — well enough to explain them to clients and stress-test vendor claims.
- Develop specialization in at least one AI platform ecosystem: Google (Gemini), Anthropic (Claude), or OpenAI.
- Present insights to clients in clear, compelling language — to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- Contribute to new business proposals and to Artefact-published content (research, articles, business cases).
- Oversee and mentor entry-level consultants and interns.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of full-time work experience, ideally in consulting, data/analytics, marketing, advertising, finance, or tech.
- Strong analytical skills and experience presenting data-driven recommendations to clients.
- Hands-on AI literacy: regular use of AI tools for real work, and demonstrated willingness to build — prototypes, automations, analyses — with AI assistance.
- Comfort with the terminal, and with tools like Claude Code or Gemini CLI (or clear evidence you'll get there fast).
- Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python for data analysis; advanced Excel and PowerPoint/Google Workspace.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, client-facing and intercultural.
- A teaching orientation: willingness to mentor junior team members.
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in business, technology, or another field related to our work.
Preferred Experience
- Strategy consulting and/or digital marketing knowledge.
- Familiarity with GenAI concepts: RAG, agents, prompting, context engineering.
- Exposure to a major AI or cloud platform (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI; GCP, Azure, AWS).
- Experience contributing to proposals or thought leadership.
