Senior Consultant, Data & AI

This is a remote, US-based contract role with part-time or full-time hours available.

As a seasoned practitioner, you will focus on managing project outcomes, advising on infrastructure strategy, and driving stakeholder alignment. You own the client relationship and the overall project success.

Responsibilities

• Own the client relationship alongside the executive sponsor, managing scope, expectations, and project governance.
• Serve as a client-facing expert, translating complex technical concepts into business-relevant insights and recommendations.
• Manage project scope, timelines, and deliverables while coordinating with internal teams and client stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops, lead client meetings, and contribute to solution design with a clear understanding of business goals.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing and internal capability development.
• Lead and execute data science and data engineering work streams within AI strategy and implementation projects, with a focus on measurable business value.
• Assess client data ecosystems and architect scalable, secure, resilient Data and AI infrastructure using modern cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake).
• Design and build robust data pipelines, analytics workflows, and machine learning models.
• Advise clients on infrastructure strategy: cloud platform selection, cost optimization, data governance, and MLOps maturity.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience in data science, data engineering, or applied AI roles, preferably within a technology consulting or professional services environment.
• Demonstrated client-facing experience: stakeholder communication, solution presentation, and project leadership.
• Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, business-oriented language for executive audiences.
• Experience leading project work streams, managing deliverables, and mentoring junior team members.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, Spark, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Deep expertise with at least one major cloud platform, including its core data, analytics, and AI/ML services.
• Hands-on experience with data-intensive infrastructure such as data lakes, warehouses, or lakehouse platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Experience with MLOps, model deployment, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) is strongly preferred.
• Strong business acumen, organizational skills, and the ability to manage ambiguity in fast-paced engagements.
