RemoteRemoteConsultingFull-time
This is a remote, US-based contract role with part-time or full-time hours available.
About the role
We build AI and data solutions that bring positive impacts to the world — from monitoring coral reefs to safeguard marine ecosystems, to improving infrastructure in Rwanda, to making banking more inclusive in Mexico, and helping reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks. We choose to work on products that matter.
As a seasoned practitioner, you will focus on managing project outcomes, advising on infrastructure strategy, and driving stakeholder alignment. You own the client relationship and the overall project success.
Responsibilities
- Own the client relationship alongside the executive sponsor, managing scope, expectations, and project governance.
- Serve as a client-facing expert, translating complex technical concepts into business-relevant insights and recommendations.
- Manage project scope, timelines, and deliverables while coordinating with internal teams and client stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, lead client meetings, and contribute to solution design with a clear understanding of business goals.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing and internal capability development.
- Lead and execute data science and data engineering work streams within AI strategy and implementation projects, with a focus on measurable business value.
- Assess client data ecosystems and architect scalable, secure, resilient Data and AI infrastructure using modern cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake).
- Design and build robust data pipelines, analytics workflows, and machine learning models.
- Advise clients on infrastructure strategy: cloud platform selection, cost optimization, data governance, and MLOps maturity.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in data science, data engineering, or applied AI roles, preferably within a technology consulting or professional services environment.
- Demonstrated client-facing experience: stakeholder communication, solution presentation, and project leadership.
- Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, business-oriented language for executive audiences.
- Experience leading project work streams, managing deliverables, and mentoring junior team members.
- Proficiency with Python, SQL, Spark, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Deep expertise with at least one major cloud platform, including its core data, analytics, and AI/ML services.
- Hands-on experience with data-intensive infrastructure such as data lakes, warehouses, or lakehouse platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
- Experience with MLOps, model deployment, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) is strongly preferred.
- Strong business acumen, organizational skills, and the ability to manage ambiguity in fast-paced engagements.
