Senior AI Applications Engineer

About the role

Zof AI is seeking a Senior AI Applications Engineer to help build advanced AI products and infrastructure. This role is for a highly capable engineer who can operate across the stack, work through ambiguity, make strong technical decisions, and build production-quality systems with speed and discipline. The ideal candidate is AI-native, deeply technical, and comfortable using modern AI tools to increase engineering velocity without compromising quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship production-quality AI product features.
• Work across frontend, backend, data, infrastructure, and AI tooling as needed.
• Make strong architectural decisions in ambiguous environments.
• Use AI development tools to increase velocity while maintaining quality.
• Collaborate with product and leadership to translate product direction into working systems.
• Mentor junior engineers through code review, technical guidance, and example-setting.
• Improve engineering standards, reliability, and delivery discipline.
• Own important systems from concept through production.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering foundation.
• Experience building production systems.
• Strong AI tooling capability.
• Ability to work across the stack.
• Strong judgment and ownership.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment.
• Evidence of building high-quality technical work.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI agents, LLMs, test automation, developer tools, quality systems, or infrastructure.
• Experience with TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, Prisma, Postgres, or similar technologies.
• Experience leading technical projects.
• Strong product intuition.
