Senior AI Applications Engineer
We are seeking a Senior AI Applications Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that enhance member engagement and support metabolic well-being.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated AI agents and tools that streamline clinical decision-making, automate complex administrative tasks, and enhance clinical workflows.
- Explore and implement the full-stack architecture required for AI-agentic systems, from context engineering, MCP servers, to API design and deployment.
- Architect and build robust, scalable backend services and integrations (using Python, Java Spring Boot, SQL) that serve as the foundation for our AI applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape the user experience of AI systems, translating clinical and operational needs into concrete technical specifications and prototypes.
- Champion best practices for developing reliable, secure, and scalable AI applications, ensuring all solutions meet compliance standards such as HIPAA.
- Mentor and coach other engineers, modeling cross-functional thinking and helping to elevate the team’s capabilities in building AI-driven products.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of AI systems in production to handle rapid growth and ensure a seamless user experience.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed, including on-call rotations.
- Regular travel to our Menlo Park headquarters for planning workshops and team collaboration sessions.

Twin Health is a company dedicated to improving metabolic health and happiness through the application of AI Digital Twin technology. We are currently seeking a Senior AI Applications Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated AI agents and tools that streamline clinical decision-making, automate complex administrative tasks, and enhance clinical workflows.
- Explore and implement the full-stack architecture required for AI-agentic systems, from context engineering, MCP servers, to API design and deployment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM-related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong foundation in building backend services.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying AI-powered applications using Large Language Models (LLMs) like GPT, Claude, or Gemini.
- Strong practical knowledge of prompt engineering, vector databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and other techniques for building reliable LLM-based systems.
- Proficiency in Java and/or Python and experience developing microservices.
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization.
- Prominent ability to work across disciplines, collaborating effectively with product, design, and non-technical stakeholders to build user-centric solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and drive projects from concept to completion.
- Experience in healthcare, biosensors, or related fields is a plus but not required.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $195,000 - $210,000 annually. Twin Health offers comprehensive benefits and perks, including:
