About the role

As a Senior Advanced Project Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be part of the Auxiliary Power Unit Project Engineering team assessing and driving achievement of program specific performance within Honeywell Power Systems for the G570 APU System. This position will be a key focal within the Project Engineering team, working directly with Project Leadership, the Customer, and a cross-functional team. You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Support and lead systems and test engineering efforts for the G570 APU Program including requirements management, system integration, and engine development/qualification test efforts
  • Maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), track project milestones, and ensure adherence to strict technical requirements
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve project goals
  • Complete monthly budget and schedule updates (CAM activities)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
  • Communicate with team leadership and the customer regarding program status

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Project, Systems, or Test engineering
  • Hands-on background in New Product Development (NPD), R&D, or aerospace testing
  • Technical knowledge in Gas Turbine Engines (APU or Propulsion)
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
  • Program/control account management skills
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing projects
  • Proven ability to work with minimal direction in a cross-functional team environment
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to solve technical problems utilizing analytical thinking
