Senior Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer
About the role
Honeywell is seeking a highly motivated Senior Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design, development, qualification, and lifecycle support of advanced pressure sensing products for Industrial Automation, Oil & Gas, Process Control, and Aerospace & Defense applications. The successful candidate will drive innovative sensor designs from concept through production, support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, and implement product enhancements and obsolescence management initiatives for existing product lines.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of pressure sensors and transmitters from concept to production.
- Develop mechanical designs that meet performance, cost, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Create CAD models, drawings, and engineering documentation.
- Perform design analyses and support FEA-based optimization.
- Manage product enhancements, design changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead testing, validation, and certification activities.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and reliability improvements.
- Partner with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to support production and product performance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering team members.
Requirements
You must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of mechanical design experience in sensors, instrumentation, or electromechanical products.
- Experience with NPI, sustaining engineering, and product modifications.
- Proficiency in Creo, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software.
- Experience with engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
We value:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with pressure sensors, transmitters, MEMS, or industrial instrumentation.
- Industry experience in Industrial Automation, Oil & Gas, Process Control, or Aerospace & Defense.
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA, FEA (ANSYS), and relevant certifications/standards.
- Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience.
