Senior Administrative Clerk – Planning

Administrative$26.42–$31.05/hrInternship

Responsibilities

  • Supports the operations of the Planning Board.
  • Assists the public in responding to requests for assistance.
  • All other related work as required.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Courses in office procedures and secretarial skills.
  • Two years of office experience.
  • Experience working with the public.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Ability and Skill

  • Knowledge of professional office practices and procedures.
  • General knowledge of municipal government is a plus.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a courteous manner.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to keep detailed records of financial transactions.
  • Ability to use a computer and learn various programs.
  • Ability to meet multiple demands.
  • Excellent typing, secretarial, and computer skills, including proficiency with web-based collaboration platforms such as Sharepoint or Google Workspace; Adobe; MS Office, data management, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Skill and ability in operating standard office equipment.
  • Good communication skills, organizational skills, and customer service skills.
  • Bilingual is beneficial, but not required.

Pay

Grade 4 ($26.42 – $31.05 an hour)

Schedule

This position is generally scheduled 8 AM to 1 PM four days per week, not to exceed 19. 5 hours per week. Some schedule flexibility may be possible.
