About the role

The Senior Actuarial Manager, Accident & Health Pricing, supports pricing strategy, portfolio performance, and product development within Everest’s Accident & Health (A&H) business. This role works closely with Underwriting and cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Sales, IT, and Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Underwriting and cross-functional teams to support the expansion and management of A&H products and pricing capabilities.
  • Lead regular portfolio monitoring, including quarterly experience analyses, to assess profitability, trends, and emerging risks.
  • Support the annual A&H planning process, including development and selection of ELR assumptions.
  • Provide actuarial leadership for pricing of new and renewal business, ensuring alignment with underwriting strategy and risk appetite.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain actuarial pricing models, tools, and methodologies.
  • Support evaluation of new business opportunities, product initiatives, and strategic growth efforts across the A&H portfolio.
  • Prepare and maintain actuarial data and databases to support pricing, experience studies, and management reporting.
  • Collaborate with external consultants and internal partners on filing and regulatory-related matters, as appropriate.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop two direct reports, promoting strong technical standards, accountability, and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of actuarial experience, with demonstrated pricing experience in Accident & Health.
  • ASA or FSA designation required.
  • Familiar with A&H product lines such as Business Travel Accident, Participant Accident, Gap Medical & Fixed Indemnity, etc.
  • Prior experience managing and developing actuarial staff.
  • Strong technical foundation in actuarial pricing, experience analysis, and portfolio management.
  • Ability to apply actuarial judgment and communicate complex results effectively to business partners and leadership.
  • Prior experience working closely with underwriting teams in a commercial insurance environment.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $152,000 – $200,000 annually. The final compensation offered will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications, and work location.
