Here, you’ll work with annuities, risk solutions, and stable value products that help companies reduce risk and maintain financial strength while empowering individuals to retire with confidence.

The selected candidate will be part of MetLife’s US Actuarial Development Program (ADP), focusing on developing future leaders who create innovative business solutions based on actuarial principles. Participants (known as “actuarial students”) rotate to new actuarial assignments approximately every two years within core areas of MetLife’s businesses, gaining experience in pricing and product development, reserve calculations, actuarial modeling, financial analysis, asset liability management, and investments.

The first rotation in the ADP will be within RIS, where you will create illustrations and produce attractive quotes for new business across a wide variety of COLI/BOLI products. This is an opportunity to expand actuarial knowledge and become involved in various aspects of new business sales/development in a fast-paced and evolving market.

Responsibilities

  • Create accurate and timely illustrations, quotes, and other new business deliverables in the first rotation.
  • Perform calculations, data analysis, and risk evaluations that are actuarial in nature.
  • Initiate, organize, and coordinate data, making recommendations to team members based on research.
  • Prepare for and take challenging actuarial exams administered through the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and work toward becoming a Fellow of the SOA (FSA designation). The program provides study days, study material reimbursements, exam salary increases, and other support.
  • Balance work responsibilities with actuarial studies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, or another analytical/business-related field.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Passed at least one SOA actuarial exam; additional passed exams are preferred and may be required for specific positions.
  • Committed to completing the Society of Actuaries' educational requirements to attain the FSA designation, demonstrated through passed exams, actuarial work experience, affiliation with actuarial organizations/clubs, or analytical degrees.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other technical tools; experience with Python, SQL, or R preferred.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Schedule

This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is $67,400 - $89,900. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
