Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a motivated individual with a background in the life sciences industry to play a critical role in the accounts payable team. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, this position requires a meticulous individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience in high-volume, deadline-driven Accounts Payable (AP) operations. This position will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure invoices are recorded properly.

Pay Rate: $60 - $80 per hour
Location: Redwood City, CA - Onsite
Employment Type: W2 Contract

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of invoices with accurate coding, expense period, and detailed descriptions.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve AP transaction issues and maintain smooth workflows.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, and address payment and invoice-related issues promptly.
• Proactively engage with internal stakeholders to keep the invoice approval process flowing.
• Perform ad hoc projects as assigned and assist others.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 3+ years of accounts payable experience.
• In-depth knowledge of accounts payable functions.
• Life science industry experience.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Coupa, Sage Intacct, and Concur systems is highly desired.
• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with MS Excel and Microsoft Office products.
