Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist)

About the Role

The Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) maintains accounting records for all California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank (IBank) funds, including the California Infrastructure and Economic Development Fund (CIEDB Fund), the California Infrastructure Guarantee Trust Fund (Guarantee Trust Fund), the California Small Business Expansion Fund (Expansion Fund), and the California Climate Catalyst Fund. This role supports IBank’s external annual audit and the production of a comprehensive annual financial report.

Employees are expected to maintain regular attendance, work cooperatively with team members, and uphold high standards of performance, clarity, and consistency in all work products. The role emphasizes precision in written communication, including compliance with IBank’s writing style, grammar, punctuation, data accuracy, and consistency in terminology and formatting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accounting records for IBank funds, including the CIEDB Fund, Guarantee Trust Fund, Expansion Fund, and Climate Catalyst Fund.
  • Support the external annual audit and preparation of the comprehensive annual financial report.
  • Perform analytical duties, plan, organize, and complete special projects or complex assignments related to fiscal and accounting work.
  • Produce high-quality written documents, ensuring compliance with IBank’s writing standards, grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
  • Ensure precision and accuracy in data presentation, statistics, and conclusions.
  • Maintain consistency in concept descriptions, terminology, and document formatting.

Requirements

  • Impeccable attention to detail, with demonstrated understanding of its importance in fiscal and accounting work.
  • Experience performing analytical duties, planning, and completing complex fiscal or accounting projects.
  • Adherence to universally recognized rules of grammar, punctuation, and parallel construction in written documents.
  • Ability to achieve high standards in performance, clarity, and coherence in work products.

Qualifications

Unless eligible for transfer or reinstatement, candidates must take the Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) exam to qualify for this position. If using education to meet minimum qualifications, school transcripts must be provided; diplomas are not accepted in lieu of transcripts.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position, requiring in-person attendance at headquarters in Sacramento up to 4 times per week.

Pay

$6,031.00 - $7,547.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range, if applicable.
