About the Role

The Senior Accounting Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, creating revenue reports, and identifying potential financial risks and solutions to mitigate them. This position communicates results to company leaders and collaborates to develop action plans, coordinates with the Chief Accounting Officer to design reporting, and leads and trains other accounting team members.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data and create revenue reports.
  • Identify potential financial risks and create solutions to mitigate them.
  • Provide financial reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Use analytical tools to identify revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with leaders to develop budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned entities and review staff accountant financials within communicated deadlines.
  • Prepare journal entries appropriately, including documentation and approvals.
  • Analyze monthly financial statements, including cost per visit, cost per patient day, and variance against prior year and budget (month to date and year to date); provide concise explanations to support findings.
  • Serve as a mentor to other accountants.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field is required; accounting degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of experience working within an accounting department, with at least two years within the company accounting department.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, including complex pivot tables and functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in business intelligence tools, such as Tableau or other visualization tools, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with general ledger accounting is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a home health or hospice setting is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, fluency in English, and active listening.
  • Intermediate technology skills, especially Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • In-office attendance is essential unless designated as a full-time remote position.
