Senior Accounting & Finance Advisory Consultant(Project‑Based – Remote)Pay Range: $90–$110/hour, depending on background OverviewWe are seeking an experienced consultant to support client engagements working with state, county, local city, or school district entities.This opportunity is ideal for a professional who has previously worked in a public entity preferably in a Controller or Accounting Manager role, and who enjoys hands‑on, high‑impact project work. These assignments will likely last 2-3 months. Engagement IncludesWorking with state, county, local city, or school district entitiesAccounting cleanup effortsMonth‑end / quarter‑end close stabilizationAudit readiness and external auditor supportKey ResponsibilitiesAssist with audit readiness for state, county, local city, or school district entitiesAssist with clean‑up of balance sheet accounts, historical reconciliations, and accounting backlogsServe as a key point of contact for external auditors and advisorsEnsure GASB complianceQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance10+ years of progressive accounting and/or finance experienceExperience working with state, county, local city, or school district entitiesPrevious experience as an Accounting Manager or Controller in such public entitiesStrong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GASB standards, and core accounting principlesExperience supporting month‑end close, financial reporting, and auditsAbility to operate independently in ambiguous or evolving environmentsAdvanced Excel skillsPreferredExperience in project‑based, interim, or advisory consulting roles
