About the Role
The Jacksonville Jaguars are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Corporate Accounting team. This role supports day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts receivable, invoice processing, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, transaction research, month-end close, and internal/NFL financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, inquisitive, and committed to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Record journal entries for month-end close, including revenue/expense recognition, related-party transactions, balance sheet accounting, and cash coding.
- Perform full-cycle sponsorship or ticketing accounts receivable functions: invoicing, payment tracking, research, and account aging.
- Correspond with external stakeholders and third parties on ticketing or sponsorship matters.
- Handle treasury functions, including wire requests and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure balance sheet accounts are accurately stated and reconciled; research variances and make adjusting entries as needed.
- Assist with year-end audit procedures, including GAAP financial statements and NFL-required reports.
- Support accounting for Daily’s Place Amphitheater, the Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation, and/or the Stadium of the Future.
- Explore new technologies for the Corporate Accounting team.
- Complete ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum 3–4 years of accounting experience.
- Ability to self-teach and adapt to new processes/technologies quickly.
- Strong multitasking skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Positive and professional demeanor with excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Collaborative mindset across departments.
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning and strong ethical conduct.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- CPA, CPA eligibility, or other relevant certification.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Experience with software: Microsoft Great Plains, Archtics, Salesforce, or Adaptive.
