Senior Accountant - Small Manufacturing Operation

Location: Sophia, WV (Greater Beckley Area) • Full-Time

About the role

Our client, a small manufacturer, is looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of the day-to-day accounting operations in Sophia, WV. In this hands-on role you’ll manage the full accounting cycle and work closely with leadership. You’ll have visibility into the entire business, with responsibilities spanning month-end close, financial reporting, job costing, budgeting, and cash management. The ideal candidate has accounting experience in a manufacturing, distribution, construction, or mining, is proficient with ERP systems, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting, including AP, AR, cash management, and general ledger
• Own the month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analysis
• Prepare leadership reports, including weekly cash reports, income statements, and balance sheets
• Support cost accounting, job costing, and inventory accounting, including the annual physical inventory count
• Manage bank reconciliations, daily deposits, credit card transactions, and customer credit checks
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Support compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and lending requirements
• Coordinate the annual audit and serve as the primary contact for external auditors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required
• Cost accounting or job costing experience required
• ERP system experience required

Pay

$90,000 - $95,000 base salary plus 10% bonus

Schedule

40 hours per week with flexible start between 8:00 and 9:00 am
