About the role

Ionetix is seeking a Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting to support public-company financial reporting, SEC reporting, and technical accounting activities in a hybrid role based in Lansing, MI.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and support SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, financial statements, footnotes, supporting schedules, and related disclosures.
  • Cook up SEC reporting calendars, deliverables, filing requirements, and supporting documentation to help ensure accurate and timely submissions.
  • Support XBRL and Inline eXtensible Business Reporting Language (iXBRL) tagging and coordination with external service providers.
  • Research U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and SEC reporting matters, assess new accounting and reporting guidance, and prepare technical accounting analyses and memoranda.
  • Support accounting for complex or unusual transactions, including equity, warrants, stock-based compensation, leases, and financing transactions.
  • Cook up with external auditors and technical accounting advisers on quarterly reviews, the annual audit, and complex accounting matters.
  • Support internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), related accounting policies and procedures, and documentation of key reporting processes and controls.
  • Support quarterly and year-end close activities and improve financial reporting workflows, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field of study.
  • Five (5) or more years of accounting experience, including financial reporting and technical accounting experience.
  • Meaningful public-company reporting experience, including hands-on preparation of Forms 10-Q and 10-K and related financial statement disclosures.
  • Experience researching technical accounting matters and preparing accounting analyses and memoranda.
  • Experience with SEC reporting software and/or XBRL.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and public-company financial reporting practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient computer skills and use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • NetSuite and SEC reporting software experience, preferred.
