Senior Accountant - SEC & Financial Reporting

Are you a Public Accountant, sick of travel, long hours, and quality of life? Our client is looking for a Senior Accountant to support SEC and financial reporting team. This person with work closely with senior accounting leadership and collaborates with finance, external auditors, and internal stakeholders on financial statements, regulatory filings, and reporting process improvements. This role is a Hybrid role working 3 days from HOME. Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, earnings releases, and monthly cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP.Coordinate the review and completion of SEC filings, manage reviewer comments, and support external audits.Prepare and coordinate monthly and quarterly regulatory reports and financial disclosures for the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and the FHLBank System.Maintain reporting policies, procedures, and internal controls while identifying opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.Research SEC and GAAP accounting issues, monitor industry disclosure practices, and support special projects, XBRL reporting, and appropriate use of AI in financial reporting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA designation strongly preferred.2+ years of public accounting experience or 4+ years of corporate accounting experience.Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and financial statement preparation.Proficiency in Excel, spreadsheet applications, and data management tools; experience with Workday Finance and Workiva is highly valued.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
