Responsibilities
- Prepare 754 step-up depreciation calculations.
- Calculate book, federal, and state differences on M1/M3 adjustments.
- Prepare international reporting forms such as 5471, high tax election, and Section 962 election.
- Prepare and review 990 tax preparations.
- Engage in business development with potential new clients.
- Participate in planning and analysis for tax clients.
- Direct and instruct assistants in work to be performed and reviewed for 1099 filing.
- Conduct individual tax meetings with clients.
- Supervise and assist intern and staff-level accountants.
- Prepare partnership, S-corp, C-corp, and individual tax returns.
- Perform book adjustments.
- Suggest and improve working procedure changes to supervisors, managers, or partners, and discuss teamwork efficiency.
- Prepare routine correspondence to clients for approval and signature by a partner, including comments for management letters.
- Prepare UBIA assets schedule and depreciation schedule.
- Proactively take ownership of projects, seeing them through to completion and delivery to the client.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field plus 2 years of work experience in the job offered or a related role.
- Experience preparing individual tax returns for clients.
- Experience filing corporate tax returns for LLCs, S-Corporations, C-Corporations, and Nonprofits.
- Experience preparing expats’ foreign tax credits and forms, including 2555, 1116, FBAR, and 5471.
- Bookkeeping experience, including preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries.
- Knowledge of analyzing annual and quarterly financial statements.
- Experience in financial planning.
- Experience conducting IRS audit support.
- Experience researching tax laws and regulations.
- Experience advising clients on complex tax matters.
Pay
$83,429 - $98,000 per year
