Senior Accountant - Regulatory Reporting and Data Governance
About the role
The Senior Accountant position plays a critical role in data governance routines and in preparation and submissions of required regulatory filings. The role supports enterprise data governance routines and assists key business partners in understanding reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Aid in data governance initiatives, ensuring tasks are understood, executed, and completed in a timely manner.
- Prepare and analyze assigned regulatory reports and schedules, including performing analytical procedures to ensure reports are accurate and in compliance with required regulations.
- Work with business lines to gain an understanding of the business activities and reporting process.
- Partner with business line personnel to educate them on regulatory reporting requirements and provide guidance on implementation of new or revised requirements.
- Collaborate with SEC reporting team and other internal reporting teams to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Partner with business units and other regulatory reporting team members to improve processes and efficiency.
- Review and maintain the department's distribution lists, quarterly task lists, and electronic SharePoint site.
- Review, update, and maintain procedures for assigned schedules.
- Work with internal and external auditors, and other compliance functions, as directed.
- Participate in special projects as necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent.
- CPA (or equivalent) and/or MBA preferred.
- Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
- Proficient knowledge of Axiom ControllerView application.
- Workday General Ledger experience.
- Strong organization and time management skills, and ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrated experience with process documentation and capacity to anticipate and develop new processes with minimal direction.
- Energetic and inquisitive, quick learner, takes initiative, and exhibits a strong work ethic with high degree of self-motivation.
- Ability to organize data, perform independent analysis, and provide explanations/conclusions to management.
- Ability to lead small projects or contribute meaningfully to larger projects.
- Ability to influence others and work effectively in a cross-functional environment; comfortable interacting with other personnel in group or support staff from other departments; may interact with other internal and external personnel (i.e., external auditors, regulators) on specific projects or more complex tasks, usually under supervision.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of work experience in accounting or related field.
- Strong core accounting, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Skills

Pay
Base Pay Range: $70,000 - $120,000 USD.
Schedule
Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process.
