This role is specifically designed for an individual with a strong background in the construction industry, specializing in payroll functions. Responsibilities
- Overseeing all payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Performing month-end close procedures, including the preparation and posting of journal entries.
- Handling Union Payroll and ensuring all union-related financial obligations are met.
- Performing job costing, tracking project costs, and ensuring accurate allocation of expenses.
- Managing client billing, preparing invoices, and following up on any discrepancies.
- Conducting variance analysis to identify and explain any significant variances in financial performance.
- Reconciling all financial accounts, identifying any discrepancies, and taking corrective action as necessary.
- Assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes.
- Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Extensive experience with payroll functions, including Union Payroll.
- Proficiency in job costing and billing procedures.
- Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and journal entries.
- Experience in variance analysis and account reconciliation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
