Senior Accountant - Onsite/Hybrid role

About the role

GEMCORE is a rapidly growing multi-state family of companies headquartered in Hudson, OH. We are seeking a Senior Accountant who can contribute to our success in a hybrid remote/in-office role with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Record financial information to the general ledger in compliance with established standards, policies, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Plan and perform monthly and quarterly close activities, including the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and analyses of revenue and expense accounts.
• Prepares internal and external financial statements.
• Aids in internal management reporting and external audit support.
• Designs, implements, and executes efficient internal control procedures.
• Compiles data on financial commitments and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenditures and forecast budgets.
• Reviews and analyzes sales and use tax laws in all 50 US states, and Washington DC.

Requirements

• Excellent written, verbal, technology and leadership skills.
• Familiar with a variety of accounting and cost accounting principles, practices, and concepts.
• Experience in Microsoft D365 a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. Master’s in Finance or MBA a plus.
• 4-6 years of general accounting experience including financial analysis.
• Ability to multi-task, interact with others, and possess above average time management skills.
