Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and analyses
To determine or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.
Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting transactions
- Audit accounting transactions, financial statements, journal entries, or other financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting and procedural standards.
- Prepare required schedules and provide necessary documents to auditors for annual audits.
Prepare Summary and System Wide Financial Reports
- Prepare Summary and System Wide Financial Reports as needed/requested by Management.
Record, maintain, and reconcile financial schedules and reports
- Record, maintain, and reconcile financial schedules, reports, and filings required by laws, regulations, or management.
- Maintain all relevant lapse and depreciation schedules.
Provide analytical and financial support
- Provide analytical and financial support for The Village of East Harbor.
- Back-up, update, and provide assistance/troubleshoot on recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current information technology.
Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis
- Assist in the development of budgets and prepare periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs and analyze variances from budget.
Tax preparation and compliance
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
Survey operations and recommend solutions
- Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems and performance improvement.
Implement policies and procedures
- Implement policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with management.
Document and communicate
- Contribute to the ongoing assessment of segregation of duties within the department.
- Provide information as requested and assist in the development of documentation that will assist the Village in achieving financial goals.
Attend and participate in meetings
- Attend and participate in all appropriate meetings and training opportunities in order to stay informed on current information and skill development.
Comply with policies and regulations
- Follow established policies and procedures including but not limited to Presbyterian Villages policies and procedures, safety policies and procedures, federal, state, and local regulations.
Education and Experience
- Business Administration degree with major in Accounting.
- Minimum seven (7) years related experience.
Computer Skills
- Computer literate.
- Expert knowledge of spreadsheet and database software.
Certifications and Licenses
- Preferred: Certified Public Accountant.
