Senior Accountant - Fixed Assets
About the role
Lambda, The Superintelligence Cloud, seeks an experienced Fixed Asset Accountant to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be responsible for managing the fixed asset lifecycle, maintaining accurate records, and supporting various financial reporting needs.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end fixed asset lifecycle: capitalization, transfers, disposals, write-offs, and impairment assessments in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 360).
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness against the general ledger.
- Calculate and record monthly depreciation for all asset classes (GPU hardware, data center infrastructure, leasehold improvements, furniture & fixtures, and software).
- Partner with Supply Chain and DC Ops teams to evaluate capital vs. expense treatment for new hardware and infrastructure purchases.
- Prepare and review fixed asset roll-forward schedules, depreciation schedules, and supporting documentation for monthly and quarterly close.
- Support external audit requests related to fixed assets, including providing schedules, reconciliations, and explanations of accounting positions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to the fixed asset tracking and close processes, leveraging automation where possible.
- Collaborate with Tax to provide fixed asset data for tax depreciation schedules and support tax provision work.
- Assist in financial statement disclosures related to PP&E as part of the quarterly and annual reporting process.
Requirements
- 5+ years of fixed asset or general ledger accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a high-growth technology or infrastructure company.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 360 (PP&E), ASC 350-40 (internal-use software), and ASC 842 (leases).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle); experience with fixed asset subledger modules is a plus.
- Bring strong analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
- A proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- An effective communicator who can clearly explain accounting concepts to non-accounting stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Experience in a hardware-intensive technology company (data centers, cloud infrastructure, semiconductors, or similar).
- Familiarity with GPU or compute hardware procurement and asset tracking.
- Experience with FloQast or a similar close management tool.
- Prior involvement in audit readiness or preparation for an IPO or fundraising process.
- Hold a CPA license or are on the CPA track.

Schedule
The ideal candidate must be present in our San Jose office location 4 days per week. Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.
Pay
The annual salary range for this position has been set based on market data and other factors. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
