About the Role
Supervise fixed asset personnel in the period close process, including depreciation expense, gain and loss, and corresponding balance sheet fixed asset accounts. Oversee period reconciliations of all fixed asset accounts, including clearing accounts, and maintain fixed asset controls in accordance with Company policy and SOX requirements. Manage three staff members and lead special projects as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the total fixed assets process each period to ensure timely and accurate reporting of the Company's books and records in accordance with Company policy.
- Oversee the reconciliation of all fixed asset general ledger accounts, including clearing accounts, and resolve reconciling differences.
- Collaborate with the tax team on sales and property tax audits and future automation activities.
- Provide timely responses to requests from customers, users of fixed asset information, and both internal and external auditors while ensuring compliance with all SOX controls.
- Partner with financial systems to ensure PeopleSoft modules are efficient, accurate, and compliant with Company controls.
- Work with the Mexico team to ensure compliance and accuracy of fixed asset reporting for book and tax purposes.
- Collaborate with the China and Brazil teams for future global integration initiatives.
- Participate cross-functionally with control groups in planning and forecasting capital needs, depreciation, balance sheet projections, and cash flow.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Support periodic balance sheet updating, forecasting, quarterly LE processes, and automation/integration with new planning tools.
- Lead special projects as identified by Fixed Asset managers.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Systems.
- Three to five years of experience in accounting and control, analysis, and business planning.
- Advanced Excel skills and intermediate proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of SQL queries and data warehouse access skills.
- Strong human relations, analytical, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
- Excellent coordination and organizational abilities, with a focus on driving results.
Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred.
