Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT Charlotte / Ballantyne, NC | Hybrid | $85k-$110k We’re working a growing life insurance platform focused on retirement and annuity solutions, on a Senior Accountant opportunity reporting directly to the Director of Finance. This is a great opportunity for an insurance accountant who wants to take ownership across GAAP, STAT, financial reporting and statutory accounting, while gaining direct exposure to senior leadership in a growing business. KEY SPECIFICATION Prepare US GAAP & Statutory financial statementsAccounting for multiple life/health insurance entitiesPrepare journal entries and detailed balance sheet reconciliationsSupport quarterly and annual financial reportingAssist with Blue Book / statutory reportingSupport external audit and statutory examinationsMaintain and strengthen internal controlsAnalyse financial results, trends and variancesSupport process improvements and ad-hoc Finance projectsWork directly with the wider Finance team Key Qualifications 3+ years of US insurance accounting experienceLife / annuity / health insurance industry experience strongly preferredUnderstanding of US GAAP + Statutory Accounting PrinciplesBlue Book / statutory statement experience highly desirableStrong Excel / MS Office skillsExperience with an ERP systemStrong analytical and communication skillsCPA or accounting qualification a plus This is a great role for someone looking to move out of public accounting or for someone currently working with a life insurance firm.
