Senior Accountant (Contract to Hire)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals for month-end and year-end close.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Aid in the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
• Manage multi-currency accounting and foreign exchange transactions.
• Cook up month-end and year-end across international subsidiaries.
• Handle intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
• Support the preparation of schedules for external audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and SOX (if applicable).
• Collaborate with AP, AR, FP&A, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
• Offer support for special projects, system implementations, and process automation efforts.

Qualifications

• Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. CPA or CPA eligibility strongly preferred.
• Experience: 3–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and industry. Experience in inventory management is a plus; experience in a publicly traded technology, fintech, SaaS, or digital asset company a plus.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles; strong foreign exchange transactions; strong intercompany reconciliation and elimination experience; proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel; excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Preferred: Experience in month-end close, audit support, and financial reporting; familiarity with consolidation, intercompany transactions, and foreign currency.

Pay

Depending upon your leveling and location, the compensation for this role averages between $85 - $100 an hour.
