Responsibilities
- Prepare the monthly financial reporting package and provide financial insight to executive and operations management.
- Prepare monthly operational reports and journal entries.
- Analyze operational reports and provide feedback to management (primarily CFO & COO) on variances.
- Analyze key labor and productivity metrics, including reconciling expectations to actual results.
- Account for multi-location practice revenue and related compensation accruals.
- Analyze actuals vs. departmental expectations.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
- Handle cash accounting and bank reconciliations.
- Work closely with the Controller on various special projects and needs as they arise.
- Conduct accounting research as required.
- Work with executives to address their analysis needs.
- Frequent interaction with Executive team members.
Initially, 80-90% of time will focus on the structured responsibilities detailed above, with the remainder dedicated to ad-hoc analysis and requests. Once proficiency is achieved, growth opportunities will expand into other areas of interest and business need. The role requires the ability to think quickly, respond intelligently, and perform well in high-pressure situations. High exposure to the executive team is expected for experienced candidates.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in business, management, or accounting (required).
- 3-5 years of post-college work experience.
- Experience with analysis within other organizations and readiness to assume more responsibility.
- Strong history using a Financial Accounting software package such as Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains (preferred).
- Very strong Excel skills (required).
- General business curiosity and a strong interest in professional growth and learning.
Skills
- Advanced: Excel, Communication
- Intermediate: Relationship skills, mid-range accounting software (Great Plains preferred)
- Beginning: Project management
Qualifications
- Expert in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- College degree in Accounting (required).
- CPA not required but is a plus if sitting for or already obtained.
