Senior Accountant

Job Type Full-time Description The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to eradicating homelessness amongst our veterans. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Foundation’s Finance Department providing financial information by maintaining and reconciling accounts; preparing reports and additional support as needed. Duties And Responsibilities Responsible for preparing and maintaining financial recordsResponsible for completing special projects; correcting errors by posting adjusting journal entries; maintaining general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable details and accounts payable ledgers; keeping information confidentialMaintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures; comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements Requirements Minimum 5 years of experienceExperience with QuickBooks and/or Sage (preferred)Strong leadership and management skillsExcellent communication & writing skillsDetail orientedAbility to work independently as well as collaborativelyStrong ethical standardsAbility to multitask multiple projects and supervise personnelProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software Pre-employment screening, including a background check, is required Working conditions Special working conditions may include changes in days worked, shift hours, and/or working conditions (e.g., outdoors or other locations) when participating in and assisting with special events as needed. Salary Description $65,000 - $75,000 per year
