Senior Accountant
About the role
A private investment and family office is seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to manage accounting activities across a complex, multi-entity environment. This is a 100% remote opportunity with occasional in-person meetings at neutral locations. The role will oversee accounting for numerous family-owned entities, investments, and assets, with varying levels of transaction activity. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong month-end close, closing entries, reconciliations, and multi-entity accounting experience. The ability to work effectively with outside CPAs, tax professionals, vendors, and other advisors is essential. Family office experience is ideal but not required. Candidates with backgrounds in public accounting, hedge funds, investment management, private investment firms, or other complex multi-entity environments are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and general ledger activities across multiple legal entities.
- Prepare and post month-end closing entries and perform account reconciliations.
- Manage monthly and year-end close processes.
- Maintain accurate accounting records across entities with varying levels of activity.
- Track and account for investments, real estate, personal assets, and other holdings.
- Coordinate with outside CPAs, tax advisors, vendors, and other external professionals.
- Provide outside tax professionals with accurate financial information and supporting documentation.
- Assist with tax-related accounting and reporting.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for entities, investments, and assets.
