Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate technical accounting treatment for leases, equity and other investments, revenue recognition, and other complex transactions and agreements.
- Interpret and apply new accounting standards confidently.
- Draft technical accounting memos, maintain accounting policies, and ensure compliance with those policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess accounting implications of new initiatives and contracts.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and monthly financial statements that comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Recommend process improvements and innovations that will increase the team's effectiveness.
- Perform monthly closing responsibilities, including preparing journal entries for review by accounting management.
- Work with accounting management and the external audit firm to ensure an efficient annual audit process.
- Gain an understanding of general ledger accounts and effectively communicate their activity and financial reporting implications to the Accounting and Finance team.
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes when necessary.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of accounting experience, including experience reviewing the work of others.
- Strong Excel skills including ability to use pivot tables, Vlookups, etc.
- Highly entrepreneurial and detail-oriented.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA.
- Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Proficiency in financial systems such as Sage Intacct, Concur, Blackline, and advanced Excel.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Skills
- Deep understanding of US GAAP and ASC guidance.
- Proactive mindset to drive process improvements and ensure compliance.

Stand Together offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000 per year, with the possibility of additional bonus compensation.
