Senior Accountant

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Analyze complex financial records and reports and oversee a company’s accounting operations.
• Regulate and authenticate financial transactions.
• Maintain a ledger to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks.
• Perform various functions directly related to the accounting month-end close process, including preparing journal entries and supporting schedules, reconciling bank and ledger accounts, and reviewing detailed transactions for accuracy and validity of accounting treatment.
• Prepare ad-hoc or other financial reports, as necessary.
• Analyze actual results against budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze payroll, benefits, commissions, barter, invoices, contracts, and various vendor payments for posting to the general ledger.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and maintain SOX compliance.
• Review and analyze financial statements and key metrics for assigned areas.
• Prepare general ledger entries and balance sheet reconciliation in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Provide guidance to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Identify and implement process improvements as continuous improvement.
• Liaise with external auditors and provide documentation as necessary.
• Help design and implement internal controls over accounting processes.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish required).
• Strong technical accounting and financial analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.
• Familiarity with accounting software and programs.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Desirable Requirements

• Television production accounting and/or cost accounting experience, preferable.
• Working knowledge of Oracle and WideOrbit, preferable.
