Senior Accountant

About the role

As a Senior Accountant at ShopMy, you'll be a core part of the Finance team, supporting the day-to-day accounting operations that keep the business running. You'll bring solid accounting fundamentals and industry experience, and thrive in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP
• Assist with internal controls, compliance, and audit preparation
• Partner cross-functionally to gather data and resolve discrepancies
• Help identify and implement process improvements
• Support external audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements as needed

Requirements

• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
• Experience in technology, e-commerce, or a high-growth startup environment preferred
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Based in NYC or the Bay Area

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification or currently pursuing
• Experience with modern accounting software and tools
• Familiarity with the creator economy or digital marketing landscape

Pay

In compliance with New York Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this position is $100,000 - $115,000 USD. We note that salary information is a general guideline only; actual compensation may vary based on the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant work experience, key skills, education, training, and business considerations. Every employee of ShopMy receives equity on top of cash compensation.
