Senior Accountant

Job Summary

Duties/Responsibilities

• Prepare and record monthly accruals and related journal entries, supporting the integrity of financial reporting and the month-end close process
• Reconcile revenue data and general ledger activity, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed
• Aid with process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the GL process
• Lead key aspects of the month-end and year-end close process, including preparing and posting journal entries and completing account reconciliations
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions
• Avoid process improvements, automation initiatives, and system implementations as needed
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by management

Experience and Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data analysis, and reconciliation of large datasets
• Experience working with JD Edwards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to identify process improvements and implement more efficient workflows
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, and leadership teams
• Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving work environment

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 5 + years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior experience in a Manufacturing Environment preferred
