As a Senior Accountant, you will play a central role in executing and coordinating core accounting activities that drive financial reporting accuracy, regulatory compliance, and smooth day-to-day business operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and analyzes financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules with accuracy and clarity.
- Performs monthly close, quarterly close, and annual close procedures to ensure timely and reliable financial results.
- Maintains and reconciles the general ledger, including journal entries and balance sheet accounts, ensuring completeness and integrity.
- Ensures compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies through consistent application of standards and controls.
- Supports internal requests, corporate accounting teams, auditors, and tax-related inquiries by providing timely and accurate documentation.
- Supports daily AP and AR operations, assisting with issue resolution and maintaining efficient workflows.
- Assists with the preparation and ongoing monitoring of budgets and forecasts to support organizational planning.
- Investigates and resolves discrepancies, audit findings, and compliance concerns to strengthen financial controls.
- Assists with the development, review, and maintenance of labor and overhead rates.
- Analyzes and reviews manufacturing costs and monitors gross margins to support operational decision-making.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department to enhance processes and efficiency.
- Performs other accounting duties as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of five years of accounting experience with demonstrated proficiency in core financial processes.
- Familiarity with cost accounting practices and margin analysis, with the ability to apply concepts to operational decision-making.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing accounting environment, supporting production-related financial activities and cost structures (preferred).
Skills
- Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), ensuring consistent application across financial activities.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and preparation of financial statements and reports to support accurate decision-making.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools for efficient financial modeling.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills to identify discrepancies and propose effective solutions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability for assigned tasks.
- Demonstrated integrity in handling confidential financial information.

Schedule
This is a full-time position, on-site at our manufacturing facility located in Roanoke, VA.
