Senior Accountant

Job Responsibilities

• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations, including accruals and reclassifications, and maintain supporting documentation
• Aid in the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met accurately and efficiently
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet and P&L variance explanations
• Calculate and prepare monthly commission earnings
• Accounts payable and accounts receivable postings
• Process check disbursements
• Perform payroll coding and related journal entries
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent experience and education
• Three (3) years’ experience as a Staff Accountant in the area of financial statement preparation, budgeting, accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Must be a self-starter and have the ability to multi-task and be detail oriented
• Understanding of spreadsheet and database applications
• Strong knowledge of Accounting principles, including U.S. GAAP
• Ability to analyze financial data
• Advanced Excel skills required
• Excellent reasoning skills
• Ability to work independently, self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic
• Proven ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
• Ability to travel to attend training and meetings as needed
• Projects a professional image in all aspects of work performance, which includes, but not limited to personal habits, demeanor and attire
