Senior Accountant
About the role
This is an on-site role in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Role
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to perform various operational, finance, accounting & reporting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in the financial services industry or experience in the public accounting sector, auditing financial services clients. This individual should possess sound technical accounting skills, a strong work ethic, analytical ability, good judgment, a strong operational focus and be well organized. We are seeking an articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
GENERAL LEDGER MAINTENANCE: Rolling forward and maintaining monthly journal entries for three entities.
BANK RECONCILIATIONS: On a monthly basis.
REVENUE RECONCILIATION: Lead revenue reconciliation process, working with our experienced team of professionals, including our operations and trading personnel in performing daily reconciliations and revenue and expense verification.
MANAGEMENT OF COMPANY ACCOUNTING & REPORTING: Responsible for all aspects including revenue entries/accruals, expense entries/accruals, cash reconciliation, completion of monthly reporting packages and monthly consolidations.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE: Complete AP process, including tracking invoices, maintaining invoice files, entering invoices into QuickBooks, sending approved invoices for affiliates to outside admin/verify correct booking, and maintaining the monthly expense accruals.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a CPA; some experience in public accounting and/or the financial services industry.
Fixed income knowledge or experience is useful but not required.
Preferred Skills
5-7 years of applicable experience
Detail oriented and creative in identifying ways we can streamline our current processes, including implementing new technologies
Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Independent, self-starter with the ability to plan and prioritize work schedule
Strong interpersonal skills
Keen attention to detail, with an analytical ability to ensure the accuracy of financial information
Ability to effectively present financial data and information to Senior Management
