Job Summary
May Mobility is entering an exciting phase of growth and our team is expanding quickly. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to add to our Finance team. The role reports to the Accounting Manager.
Essential Responsibilities
- Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences through proper documentation to ensure integrity of accounting information
- Research unique transactions and demonstrate the ability to independently determine proper accounting treatment and considerations
- Prepare and manage month end close accruals, adjusting journal entries, and account reconciliations and ability to present the results to management
- Partner directly with vendors as part of monthly invoicing coordination and onboarding of new vendors as needed
- Demonstrate working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes to provide cross-functional support to those functions
- Collaborate and plan with supply chain and engineering teams to ensure proper inventory and bill of materials tracking for vehicle builds
- Assist the Accounting team with financial statement preparation and audits, including preparation of footnote disclosures, related support and tie out support
- Demonstrate an understanding of accounting standards (specifically ASC 606) to come to an accounting treatment and ability to document and present such conclusions to the Accounting Manager
- Demonstrate an independent understanding of Company's expense policies and ability to manage and coordinate with employees to uphold compliance and reporting
- Support new system implementations and internal controls documentation as needed
- Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to the Accounting Manager and other Finance team members

Qualifications and Experience
- Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- 4+ years working in corporate finance or public accounting
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical and data mining skills
- Strong working knowledge of Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to diplomatically approach team members to discuss sensitive financial matters
- Ability to use professional judgment to escalate matters when necessary
- Flexibility and ability to display sound judgment while operating in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- MBA or Master of Accounting
- CPA preferred
- NetSuite experience
- Inventory and Fixed Asset experience
- Experience using Google Suite
