About the role
As a Senior Accountant at Kyocera Document Solutions America, Inc., you will support the subsidiary’s finance and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with internal controls, and timely execution of accounting functions. You will report directly to the Controller and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain financial integrity in an organization deeply rooted in the Philosophy of “doing what is right as a human being.”
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Provide backup and support for various accruals as required.
- Prepare and complete balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy and prevent “out of period” adjustments.
- Prepare financial analysis to support management decision-making.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing required workpaper documentation.
- Perform ongoing review and monitoring of compliance regarding accounting-related internal control procedures.
- Develop relationships and manage communications with KDA management and auditors.
- Assist with ad-hoc projects, including enhancements to the company’s financial reporting system.
- Oversee all Accounts Receivable (AR) functions to ensure achievement of monthly and annual KPI targets.
- Complete bank reconciliations and monitor bank account balances.
- Follow up on bank errors, NSF checks, discrepancies, and unreconciled items on bank statements.
- Assist in preparing parent company reporting package requirements (e.g., AR, AP, Inventory reports) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Provide support in the Accounts Payable invoice validation process.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Requirements
- BS Degree in Accounting/Finance with 3-5 years of minimum experience.
- Excellent skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and handling IT issues related to financial close and reporting.
- Ability to meet hard deadlines and work additional hours when necessary.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables.
- Good understanding of accounting concepts and the working of Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
Pay
The typical pay range for this role is $46,000–$103,000 annually, depending on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
