About the Role
KIOTI Tractor, a leader in the design and manufacture of compact tractors, utility vehicles, turf care, and compact construction equipment, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team onsite at our Wendell, NC location. The Senior Accountant owns the daily accounting cycle and the monthly close for assigned areas with minimal day-to-day direction from the Director of Accounting. This person will be cross-trained, adaptable to any primary function within the Accounting Department, and expected to take ownership of assigned workstreams while adjusting quickly to shifting priorities.
Responsibilities
- Daily Accounting Operations
- Independently perform daily accounting activities, including journal entries, cash application, and AP/AR review.
- Determine the proper handling of financial transactions in accordance with US GAAP and company policy.
- Review work prepared by Staff and Junior Accountants for accuracy and proper classification.
- Month-End Close & Reporting
- Own assigned month-end close tasks and complete them on schedule with minimal supervision.
- Prepare and post month-end accruals, reserves, estimations, and adjusting journal entries.
- Perform general ledger, bank, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and supporting schedules across multiple entities, with variance analysis for the Accounting Manager and C-Suite.
- Maintain company fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related reconciliations.
- Support inventory accounting, including cycle counts, physical to book variances, and year-end counts.
- Systems, Process & Internal Control
- Work within the company's ERP to validate system data and resolve subledger to general ledger discrepancies.
- Document accounting procedures and recommend improvements to the efficiency of accounting operations.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies; maintain proper documentation for audits.
- Audit & Tax Support
- Prepare schedules and respond to requests for quarterly reviews and the year-end audit.
- Assist with income, property, and sales and use tax filings and support tax audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on month-end close ownership.
- Demonstrated ability to carry daily accounting and close duties with minimal day-to-day direction.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and the ability to apply it to routine and non-routine transactions.
- Experience with large ERP systems required; SAP and exposure to an ERP implementation or stabilization is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Self-motivated with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively present information.
- Korean language proficiency is a plus, not required; helpful for communication with our parent company.
- Onsite position; must be able to operate a computer for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
