Role Description The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site position based in the Lafayette, Louisiana Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for managing general ledger activities, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes. The Senior Accountant will oversee account reconciliations, analyze financial data, and prepare internal financial reports to support management decision-making. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining compliance with accounting standards, supporting budget and forecast preparation, and assisting with audits and tax-related documentation. The role also involves collaborating with operations and leadership to improve financial processes and controls and provide guidance on accounting best practices. QualificationsStrong knowledge of general accounting principles, including general ledger management, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.Proficiency with accounting software and Excel, including use of spreadsheets, formulas, and reconciliations.Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and to build productive working relationships.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward a professional certification is a plus.Prior experience in a senior accounting or similar role; experience in service-based or field operations businesses is beneficial.
