Senior Accountant
Job Summary
The Senior Accountant supports the accuracy and integrity of financial operations by managing general accounting activities, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards. This role plays a key part in the month-end close process, audit support, and financial analysis.
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience (6+ years preferred or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, M3, Great Plains)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with real estate property tax
- Background in real estate appraisal preferred
- Active Texas Property Tax Consultant License preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Aid in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Cook up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed

Qualifications
Experience working in a multi-entity, real estate, or leased accounting environment preferred, including exposure to AP/AR processes and financial analysis
Education
- Some college (Preferred)
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience
- Required: 3 years of experience working in a multi-entity, real estate, or leased accounting environment, including exposure to AP/AR processes and financial analysis
- Required: 2 years of experience supporting audits, account reconciliations, and maintaining internal controls in a structured accounting environment
- Required: 3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for general ledger, financial reporting, and month-end close
