Senior Accountant

Position Type: Contract – Remote (Work from home, local time zone)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 3–5 years of experience working within a general ledger and supporting month-end close and reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Advanced understanding of GAAP accounting
• Excellent strategic, analytical, and creative thinking aptitude in both independent and team environments
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently, stay well-organized, perform under stressful situations, and communicate effectively
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access
• Experience with EPM software; Oracle Fusion experience preferred
• Timeshare experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Compile financial information in a timely manner to prepare accurate financial statements for assigned Club(s)
• Post journal entries into the general ledger
• Handle payables, including checks and wire transfers
• Perform bank reconciliations, billing reconciliations, account analysis, audit schedules, budget reporting, and statistical accumulation
• Prepare journal entries essential to building an accurate general ledger
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts in accordance with departmental policy
• Facilitate wire transfers related to the receivable and payables of club transactions
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of corporate related-party receivables and payables
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting package
• Assist in the coordination of and preparation for financial audits as required
• Assist in the creation of budget reports and in preparation of annual budgets
• Monitor banking activity to ensure funds are available to clear wires and checks
• Assist in driving annual departmental goals
• Develop process flows, identify process constraints, and implement improvements to the department
• May participate in planning/oversight of departmental, hospitality, or staff events
• May support peers in developing an understanding of the timeshare industry
• May support management in the development of Accountants in lower levels
