Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Aid in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries.
• Complete balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate and complete general ledger records.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and internal financial reports.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Review the work completed by temporary accounting staff.
• Provide direction and answer accounting-related questions from temporary staff.
• Ensure transactions are properly recorded and supported by appropriate documentation.
• Aid in the preparation of audit materials and respond to audit requests.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting functions as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Assist with additional accounting projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Have at least 4 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Show a strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close.
• Have experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Have experience reviewing the work of other accounting professionals.
• Show strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Show proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Show experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
• Show strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Show the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Show strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Show the ability to work independently while collaborating with the broader accounting team.

Pay

$80,000–$90,000 annually, based on experience.
