About the role
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of accounting, bookkeeping, public accounting, or controller-level experience. They should have a strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, or similar software is essential. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines are also crucial. Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude are mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements for business clients
- Review bookkeeping work for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
- Aid clients with account reconciliations, cleanup projects, and month-end close
- Identify and implement process improvements for client accounting workflows
- Communicate with clients regarding financial questions, missing information, and reporting needs
- Support payroll, sales tax, 1099, and other recurring compliance needs as appropriate
- Absorb and improve internal processes for the department
- Mentor and support staff accountants and bookkeepers within the department
- Work towards more proactive advisory and controller-level service
Requirements
- Minimum three years of accounting, bookkeeping, public accounting, or controller-level experience
- Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, or similar accounting software
- Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client deadlines
- Effective communication skills and comfort working directly with clients
- Ability to identify problems and help create practical solutions
Qualifications
- CPA or EA designation (not required)
