Senior Accountant
About the role
The Gogo Senior Accountant is a key member of the Accounting team responsible for supporting an accurate and timely close process and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable reporting requirements. This role performs a broad range of accounting activities, with a strong focus on revenue recognition under ASC 606, cost of service accruals, monthly close support, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally to investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and improve accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage revenue recognition accounting for service and equipment revenue across domestic and international operations
- Prepare, record, and maintain supporting documentation for journal entries
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate general ledger support
- Identify, investigate, and resolve account reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business processes and support the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting
- Support month-end and year-end close activities while meeting established deadlines
- Provide guidance and review support for less experienced team members as needed
- Assist with internal and external audit requests
- Support accounting projects and ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
- Maintain compliance with internal control and SOX requirements
Requirements
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; Accounting preferred
- CPA or similar professional certification preferred
Skills
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; Microsoft Business Central experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with internal controls
- Ability to research and apply accounting guidance relevant to the business
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Pay
Base Pay: $84,000.00 - $105,000.00 USD Annual
Target Annual Short-Term Incentive Bonus Plan: 10% of Annualized Base Pay
