Senior Accountant
About the Role
Honest Networks seeks a Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations and ensure compliance in our New York office. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our innovative telecommunications company, delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Manage general ledger reconciliations and account for complex transactions such as revenue recognition from network services.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Review accounts payable and receivable weekly and process payroll for 200+ employees.
- Collaborate with the operations team to track capital expenditures on infrastructure projects.
- Assist in budget forecasting and perform cost allocation for departments like IT and customer support.
- Prepare audit schedules for external reviews.
- Lead ad-hoc projects, such as system implementations for ERP software.
- Mentor junior accountants and present financial insights to executive leadership during board meetings.
- Ensure alignment across sales, marketing, and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification strongly preferred.
- 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in the telecommunications or technology sector.
- Proven expertise in GAAP and SOX compliance.
- Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle NetSuite.
- Advanced Excel skills for data modeling and pivot tables.
- Familiarity with tax regulations, internal controls, and financial forecasting tools.
- Master’s degree or additional certifications like CMA will set you apart.
