Responsibilities
- Review sales contracts and reduce contract related issues to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
- Analyze and understand various service/product offerings and revenue streams to ensure proper revenue recognition
- Prepare weekly cash management and payables reporting
- Perform revenue cost accounting and reporting activities on a monthly basis
- Perform month-end account reconciliations
- Resolve revenue related issues and follow-up on outstanding items
- Assist in financial audits and implement audit recommendations
- Review and recommend improvements to current revenue recognition strategies
- Research sales tax laws and regulations as needed
- Communicate effectively with staff as well as the various departments that play a role in the billing and revenue recognition functions
- Inform and educate other business areas as to the financial impact of potential business decisions they are responsible for making
- Prepare and submit compliance reporting and filings
Qualifications
- Has Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Has 7+ years of experience in accounting roles
- Has demonstrated advanced experience with accounting and spreadsheet software, especially Excel
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Self-motivated, flexible, deadline focused and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Acute attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interact with senior management and individuals with varying degrees of financial knowledge
