Senior Accountant

About the role

Elation Health is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting Team. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, this role involves modernizing financial operations, collaborating with FP&A, and ensuring compliance and audit readiness.

Responsibilities

• Own core close processes for cash automation, accounts payable, accruals, and prepaid expenses, ensuring the ledger is audit-ready and compliant.
• Identify and lead automation initiatives for close workflows, leveraging ERP functionality (NetSuite) and building AI agents (through Claude / Notion / etc.) to improve quality and reduce time-to-close.
• Partner cross-functionally to provide data-driven insights, supporting budget vs. actual analyses.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to help manage federal and SALT compliance, ensuring a seamless and efficient audit process.
• Maintain and enhance "SOX-lite" internal controls and documentation as we transition toward a more mature, automated reporting environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a high-growth SaaS environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Comfortable with AI tools and experience with AI agents.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite (preferred).
• Expert level knowledge of Excel / Google Sheets.

• Experience with systems automation and building AI agents.
• Proven ability to build and improve processes from scratch.
• Able to own problems end-to-end, exercise sound judgment, and operate with autonomy in a lean, fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
