Senior Accountant
The purpose of this role is to support the day-to-day accounting operations of the business, play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, and assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
About the role
This role will support daily accounting operations and assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. The Senior Accountant will own key balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting support, and accounting analyses while helping ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close activities
- Own assigned balance sheet accounts, including complex reconciliations and variance analysis
- Manage internally-developed software capitalization process (ASC 350-40)
- Assist with maintaining the general ledger and ensuring financial data integrity
- Prepare variance analyses and supporting schedules for management review
- Support accounting for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, inventory, cash, and intercompany transactions
- Auxiliary expense tracking, account analysis, and transaction research
- Ensure accounting records comply with US GAAP and company accounting policies
- Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests
- Aid in the preparation of external SEC reporting including tie-outs of the reports
- Support banking activities, cash reporting, and treasury-related tasks
- Help improve accounting processes and identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency
- Maintain organized documentation and support process standardization across accounting workflows

What will you do?
General Accounting & Financial Operations:

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with teams across Finance, Operations, Revenue, and Accounts Payable to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Assist with resolving accounting discrepancies and operational issues
- Support ad hoc financial reporting and accounting projects as needed
- Participate in system and process improvement initiatives within NetSuite and other financial tools
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
- Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes
- Experience preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification or CPA-eligible preferred
- Public accounting experience is a plus
- Experience within a technology, SaaS, hardware, or publicly traded company environment preferred
- Familiarity with SOX controls and audit support processes
- Experience with revenue recognition and inventory accounting is a plus
What is required (travel & physical requirements)?
This role will be a Hybrid position working 3-4 days per week at our St. Louis office and from home 1-2 days per week. Ability to work extended hours during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close periods.
